The Storyline of Camp

So we had the idea that there should be an overarching plot/mystery that the kids had to solve during camp to make it seem like they were part of a story...however, we had a weak story and we miserably failed to pull it off during both camp, so this is a documentation of what we did wrong! I personally still think if we had done it right it could have added to the fun of camp, because we did something similar in our Percy Jackson camp the previous year, so we will consider this failure a learning experience.

The premise was that one of out counselors had to leave after the first week of camp, so we decided to use this to our advantage in our story. Here is the backstory:

Gloria (Graf Lionna Kraan)(this is an anagram of her full name, like I am Lord Voldemort is) was the brightest witch of her age during school, especially at divination, potions and occlumency. However, once she graduated from the Chicagoan Hogwarts Academy of Witchcraft, her revolutionary advances in the fields of permanent potions and mass mind control were laughed at, shot down, and doubted by the scientific magical community at large. She decides she wants to take over the world to prove them wrong.
She infiltrates Hogwarts as a last minute teacher by hexing the paperwork, then makes it look like the current headmaster has screwed something up (she allowed first years to have their own brooms). Then she presents herself as the best candidate for headmistress, is chosen by Imperius Curse, and throws a party that requires donations of Boomslang Skin (secretly in order to whip a huge batch of Polyjuice Potion). After this, she fakes her own death, and moves on to the next school. The kids who drank the potion will turn into her clones and then she will take over the world.
Obviously there a lot of plot holes in this story, not to mention the fact that it is complicated and involves a lot of backstory and acting... we started out strong with some great Daily Prophet Articles delivered by Owl Post, and we did have a costume party in Professor Lionna's honor with some fun party games like Magical Chairs and Pin the Lightning Scar on Harry. But the mystery of her death was never resolved.

The Party!
