Astronomy

Astronomy had one lesson during camp. Basically we discussed some common constellations and the north star, and tried to look for these with our star projector, which was not very good. Then we read the myth of the constellations of Ursa Major and Ursa Minor, and asked the kids to design constellations of their own with a story behind them. We tried to make little constellation viewers with paper towel tubes and pieces of black foam with holes punched in them taped to one end--anyway, they didn't work very well. Astronomy class was not very exciting.
