Divination



Because Divination is an art that Muggles have pursued almost as much as wizards have, there is plenty to do in this class. We had material for 2-3 lessons, and covered very basic introductions to a variety of types of fortune telling. One lesson covered palm reading, tarot card readings, and crystal balls, another lesson was about tea leaves (the professor saw the Grim!) and dream interpretations, and the last, optional mini-lesson covered astrology (horoscopes) and a "mind reading" trick. We also considered including teaching some simple card tricks to the kids, but we didn't end up doing this. A lot of the fun in this class was when the teacher was very dramatic but also silly with their predictions, so that the kids could have fun playing along rather than questioning every prediction made. This depends a lot on the group of kids though.
